Bio

Jeniffer Carmona is a Colombian architect based in New York. She holds a Bachelor of Design from the University of Florida and a Master of Architecture from Cornell University. She is the co-founder of the Citizen Architect podcast and Big Red Talks. She participated in workshops such as “Ciudad Feminista, ciudad del cuidado" with Arquine in Porto, and "Rizoma de agua" with the office TANAT in Mexico City.

Jeniffer previously worked in South Florida, Chicago and most recently in Mexico City as a designer and researcher on various scales, types, and contexts, encompassing community-driven research projects, books, furniture design, interior design, and residential projects, ranging from houses to multi-story buildings. She was an Associate Professor in the Cornell Introduction to Architecture 2024 Summer Program.

Jeniffer's work explores a wide range of interests that seek to expand the architectural canon. She utilizes research, representation, and storytelling as design tools for holistic understanding and practice of architecture. Her approach views architecture not just as built forms, but also as vessels for narratives woven from material practices and embedded within social and ecological networks.
