Bio

Mireya Fabregas is an architectural designer from Caracas, Venezuela. She studied at The Cooper Union where she graduated with a bachelor’s in architecture and a minor in Literature. Her academic work has been recognized by the AIA’s Center for Architecture and has received various awards and fellowships from The Architecture Faculty of the Cooper Union. Mireya has collaborated in art exhibitions with prestigious institutions such as the MoMA and the Chicago Architecture Biennale.

Following her graduation, she worked at various New York City architecture firms Peter Pennoyer Architects and Yellow House Architects on projects in construction phase and later at Venezuelan studio Atelier Caracas. In 2024, she co-founded Spolia, a creative studio and design venue based in Madrid. She currently engages in projects of various scales, including architecture and interior renovations, furniture and object design, as well as art direction and scenography.

Mireya is passionate about architecture’s ability to interrogate the current world and particularly interested in bridging the gap between labor and academia and exploring ideas that challenge conventions. Her interests include the use of ingenious materials, details and the knowledge embodied in them, origin myths, and the interplay of friction and contradiction. She is an avid sketcher and builder.
