Embroidering Essence

Embroidering Essence traces a personal journey along a newly constructed metro line, documenting the transformation of a city once familiar and revisiting its evolving urban landscape after a period of absence. Through the act of mapping, the project captures the intersections between past and present, revealing how new infrastructure reshapes the collective and individual memory of a place.

Along the journey, the project explores the tensions between urban fabric and nature, the influence of car culture, the evolution of commerce, and the persistence of cultural symbols. These observations become a narrative of rediscovery, weaving together fragments of memory and contemporary urban life to reconnect with the city in which the author grew up.
